Western style shirts are also a great option as a party and festival shirt for their cool style and attractive prints. The prints are all so unique and interesting, and have Aztec and primitive culture vibes, which always go down well at a festival.

Being long sleeve, they are a good choice for cooler weather. These western shirts look really good tucked in with a plain jacket over the top because the prints are so striking.

The western shirt is about as iconic as it gets when it comes to wardrobe staples. A Western shirt is a traditional piece of Western clothing with a stylized yoke on both the front and back. It's usually made of chambray, denim, or tartan fabric with long sleeves, and it's often included with snap pockets, bandana fabric patches, and fringe in newer versions. It's one of the few items tough enough to survive rough frontier circumstances as well as changing fashion trends over the last two centuries. The western shirt was created in the early nineteenth century, as American immigrants continued to expand into western territory. Despite the frontier's limited population, outposts were very cosmopolitan, blending the popular clothes of statesmen, their European equivalents, and Native Americans' rugged work wear. Due to a lack of materials, the shirt was first sewn with leather and animal skins collected during expeditions until the early 1900s, when tailors had better access to cottons and wools. The shirt was revised at that time to add many of the signature elements featured on today's Western-style shirts.

It all started with a single jean in 1947, and they’ve been making classic denim products for cowboys, rebels, and rock stars ever since. An icon remains relevant for generations and their impact is immeasurable. Wrangler was founded in 1947 by Blue Bell, a denim manufacturer with a simple goal to develop the greatest five pocket jeans in the world. Trends come and go but their focus remains consistent, it's all about the jeans. This is a firm stance that has earned the company iconic status. Wrangler jeans and shirts become the first, and still only, western wear brand to be officially endorsed by the Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association. The original source of inspiration was 1940s western shirts, which have now been revived for the modern urban cowboy. When it was first published in the mid-1960s, this best seller became an instant classic. The famous singer, Mick Jagger wore his on the stage, worn it open at the front and tied at the waist. 1966, it was this point that designers began taking creative liberties of their own to differentiate their styles from traditional shirts. The neck was replaced with a standard button instead of a snap button for much better functionality and breathability. Depending on the designer, details and embroidery got more or less animated, and fabrics used went over classic denim and wool. The storied history of the Western shirt makes it easy to see why it remains one of the most popular pieces in the fashion world.
